James Bay? More like James Bae … I will never stop making that “joke”.
With two albums under his belt, James Bay is back with a new single in collaboration with Julia Michaels. His first release Chaos and the Calm introduced him to the world as an acoustic singer-songwriter, while his second album Electric Light allowed him to experiment with his sound. Though admittedly I appreciate his acoustic sound more, I have yet to find a song by James Bay that I don’t like and “Peer Pressure” is no exception.
What do you get when two brilliant singer-songwriters get in the studio? A song that feels like the butterflies that excitedly float around in your stomach right before the magic happens.
Put your hands on my body just like you think you know me
Want your heart beating on me, don’t leave me hot and lonely
I don’t usually give in to peer pressure
But I’ll give in to yours
James Bay allows the vulnerability to lead every single one of his songs and Julia Michaels is unapologetic with her truth; combined they create the purest form of magic.
You can catch me replying this song over and over and over and over … you get it.
