Ariana Grande is clearly out here, living our wildest dreams. Now, my complicated relationship with Ariana Grande has been well-documented but I have to give it up to her on this one.
Weekend 1 of Coachella was this past weekend and Ariana Grande was Sunday’s headliner. Aside from being the youngest performer to headline, she also made history by getting *NSYNC together to perform on stage with her. Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone got on that stage and tore up my heart. The reunion didn’t include Justin Timberlake and I felt perfectly okay with that. Click HERE for a deeper look at my complicated feelings with Justin Timberlake.
If you can allow me a moment to daydream: I hope this reunion on stage has served as a realization to the four members. I hope that they got off stage and immediately came to the conclusion that a reunion without Justin Timberlake (who broke them up in the first place and yes, I’m still upset about it) would absolutely work. They would still sell out, we would all still lose our minds and JC Chasez can finally shine as the true Supreme he was always meant to be.
*NSYNC was a very prominent part of my pre-teenage years. They were my first crushes, they created the soundtrack to my first heartbreak and they provided so much joy when my childhood felt turbulent. So yes, I will continue to beg for a reunion; give me one full-length concert, a Las Vegas residency, ANYTHING!
Do we not deserve nice things? Has Donnie Trump not ruined enough of our lives? Can we please just get some joy?
I want to wear my best *NSYNC t-shirt and sing at the top of my lungs in a room full of *NSYNC fans. How can we make that happen? Can someone get a message to JC? We need to remind him that he was always meant to be the lead singer.
A tiny part of me knows that this reunion will never happen, but the other part of me will never stop asking for it. So thank you Ariana Grande, you are the personification of the 90’s kid inside all of us.
